Fractional Leadership

A Fractional CEO/CFO/COO is simply a leadership executive that acts as Chief Executive Officer or Chief Operating Officer on a part-time basis. The responsibilities and onsite frequency can vary widely and are typically customized to the needs of the business.  Your Fractional CEO/COO may come in one day per month to work on your strategic planning with your leadership team. He or she may be there twice per week overseeing sales activities, process improvement, and various projects. Or, the role may be fulfilled entirely on a remote basis so as to cause as little disruption to your operation as possible. The Fractional CEO/COO role has become more and more popular in recent years. Chief Financial Officer

My Exec is a team of seasoned CFOs who provide fractional, interim and project CFO and Management services to clients using a flexible engagement model dependent on client needs. We serve mid-market companies throughout the U.S.


My Exec has been retained by privately held businesses and private equity firms to solve specific and sometimes complex business issues. 


Some examples are:

• Refinanced $500MM of lines of credit for working capital purposes with a revolving and term debt refinancing in process, resulting in significant savings of interest and fees. The same project secured an ABL leasing back rolling stock at 80% value, freeing up cash for growth.

• Supported a company board of a 750-fleet trucking business on the sale of the company.

• Hired and upgraded clients’ key finance, accounting, treasurer, operations and executive leadership personnel 

• Replaced and upgraded external CPA firm for improved resources and increased tax savings strategies with no incremental cost

• Replaced health insurance broker and carrier, resulting in improved service and an 22% premium reduction

• Recovered $300K of incorrectly assessed fuel tax credit.

  • Created business plans, including forecasts for income statements, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
  • Cleaned up balance sheet, established key accounts for loans and liabilities, and recorded detailed assets for depreciation. 

• Established monthly fleet asset value evaluation for sale to work in coordination with the fleet purchasing program. Lowering fleet maintenance costs and, in some cases, having the program self-fund fleet asset purchases.

• Established an independent insurance company for rolling stock coverage with excess liability carriers.

• Developed and prepared an information memorandum package for investment bankers, private equity, and brokers for funding raises. 

• Identified and pursued portfolio investment opportunities by soliciting and pitching to institutions and individuals

  • We hold a finance backgrounds and possess extensive knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance. 
  • We work collaboratively with financial teams to expedite the closing process, reduce accruals, and improve financial data accuracy. 
  • We provide financial leadership in areas such as reporting, budgeting, and treasury management. 
  • We oversee banking relationships, ensure compliance with debt covenants, and provide reports on borrowing bases. 
  • We use a 13-week forecasting model to manage cash flow and improve cash position by streamlining customer collections and extending vendor payments. 
  • We evaluate and select outsourced providers for IT, insurance, surety bonding, and 401(k) services. 
  • We coordinate opening balance sheets, year-end audits, and technical accounting issues with external auditors. 
  • We develop and implement policies for purchasing and inventory management to standardize and simplify operating procedures. 
  • We support commercial operations by reviewing customer and vendor contracts to optimize terms and conditions.
